"This discussion explores the impact of cognitive biases on mental health research, illustrating how these biases can lead to errors in judgement and affect findings. Despite challenges, the scientific method's self-correcting nature helps address inaccuracies. We'll examine case studies on psychiatric medication development to understand mental health research's complexities, highlighting the differences from physical health research. As a clinical pharmacist and neuroscientist, I aim to discuss these issues and invite audience participation for a richer understanding. Together, we'll discuss challenges and innovative solutions in mental health research and practice, fostering a collaborative exploration of new paths forward." Postdoc Islam Moustafa Galal Faress from DANDRITE is inviting everyone to a talk and plenum discussion about cognitive biases in science.
